2nd overall, CHPC National Student Cluster Competition
Wits A placed second of ten teams, won the MATLAB Coding Challenge and took the highest LINPACK result.
The Centre for High Performance Computing runs the national student cluster competition each year at its national conference. In December 2024 it was held in Gqeberha, with ten teams.
Teams are judged on benchmark results, application performance and the overall design of their cluster. Wits A finished second overall, behind CPUT. It also won the MATLAB Coding Challenge and took the highest LINPACK result.
The competition is also how the South African team for the ISC Student Cluster Competition in Hamburg is chosen.
