Wits MicroMouse Robotics
The first MicroMouse team at Wits: small robots that solve a maze on their own. Lead engineer, then manager.
MicroMouse is a robotics competition in which a small autonomous robot finds its way through a maze, then races to the centre as fast as it can. Wits MicroMouse Robotics is the student team formed to compete in it. My vacation-work report on the project describes it as the first MicroMouse team in Africa, and the first project of its kind in robotics at Wits.
My part
Dean Solomon led the group and appointed me lead engineer. I designed the first mouse and built the MVP, V1.0 and V2.0 hardware, which added Wi-Fi in V2.0. I designed the circuit boards in EasyEDA and ordered them from JLCPCB, and I helped build a modular maze for testing. Later I managed the group's administration.
